Synopse
DOCUMENTARY A documentary meditation which in poetic pictures translates the pain of the survivors of the Khmer Rouge terror regime. For 30 years, Rithy Panh has been dealing with the consequences of the Khmer Rouge's reign of terror in Cambodia. In previous films, he focused on the mechanisms of extermination, the survivors' traumas and experiences in exile. His new film seeks a path to peace. Peace between the perpetrators and surviving victims, but also inner peace that will allow the man who lost his family at 13 to carry on living, a peace befitting both the living and the dead.

Rithy Panh (*1964) grew up in Phnom Penh and lost his family in the Khmer Rouge camps, while he was able to escape to Paris. He is one of the most renowned documentary film-makers worldwide.
