Synopse
OPENING FILM Noura is a young lawyer in Tehran in search of a visa to leave the country. She recently had her license to practice law revoked for participating in activist campaigns against the government. Her husband was exiled to work in the desert because of his role as a political journalist. Now pregnant and alone, the woman is fed up with Iran and considering terminating her pregnancy as part of a complicated scheme to leave the country. Director Rasoulof himself did not get a visa to attend the film's premiere in Cannes.

MOHAMMAD RASOULOF (*1973) has already been a guest at FILMFEST HAMBURG several times, most recently in 2017 with "A Man of Integrity". Rasoulof has been imprisoned many times for his criticism of the regime. None of his films have ever been officially shown in Iran.
