Synopse

Rules have to be followed. For the "overseers" of the Tel Aviv suburb Bat Yam, that means threatening women who in their opinion are indecently dressed or shop owners and secular Jews who don't conform to the rules of the Sabbath. If a street trader sells the wrong kind of films, he may end up in hospital. In their free time, the young Jewish fundamentalists smoke dope and set religious texts to techno beats.Leader of the gang is Avi. And it's Avi of all people who puts the group dynamic to the test when he threatens a woman who doesn't follow the rules - and promptly falls in love with her. God's Neighbours casts an unusual look at a vibrant part of Israel relatively unknown to the outside world.

Regie
