Synopse
A trans* teenager fights with her body in her struggle to become a ballerina – and a woman: Lukas Dhont’s prize-winning debut film is a moving drama about finding one’s identity. Lara wants to become two things in her life: a professional ballet dancer and the woman she has always felt herself to be. Supported by her father, the 15-year old does an 8-week training course at a well-known ballet school and keeps overtaxing her body. At the same time, she begins a course of hormone therapy. But the transformation isn’t fast enough for Lara, neither to become a dancer nor a woman.
