Synopse
DOCUMENTARY Boyhood in the country – the story of a childhood in France, filmed over 10 years. In a village in Artois, Gabin will one day take over his father’s butcher’s shop – that’s been the plan ever since he was little. But the boy loves animals, not the meat they become: he would prefer to train a prize cow, breed dogs and save his mother’s rundown farm from ruin. Maxence Voiseux filmed Gabin Jourdel over a decade, from 8 to 18, and sensitively traces how children develop their own design for life between their own dreams and the expectations of others.
