Synopse

DOCUMENTARY Legendary director Wim Wenders and star architect Peter Zumthor came together to make a thoughtful film about architecture and its basic requirements. In the summer of 2012, Wim Wenders and Peter Zumthor were invited by the then curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale David Chipperfield to make a short film: Notes from a Day in the Life of an Architect was the result. As it turned out, this was just the beginning. Wenders and Zumthor discovered that they had similar ways of working: they develop things from the inside out. The film looks at Peter Zumthor’s work and takes as its main theme two future projects: the extension of the Fondation Beyeler in Riehen near Basel and the new building of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Regie

In 1971 Wim Wenders co-founded the Filmverlag der Autoren. His international breakthrough came in 1974 with Alice in the Cities and in 1978 he made his first film in the USA, Hammett. Most recently, FilmFest Hamburg showed his films Perfect Days (2023) and Anselm (2023).
