Synopse

DOCUMENTARY The last stage of a great love: With great affection, this film accompanies a couple who have been together for more than 70 years and who are now starting to take their leave of each other. »Ah, it could be so wonderful!«: a diary entry from 1953, read by Nina Hoss and the beginning of a decades-long relationship. Marriage, a house and three children follow. Against all odds and through all crises, Eva and Dieter have remained together all their lives. Now they are old and in different physical conditions. Dieter still has energy, while Eva’s strength is ebbing away. What remains of their lives as a couple?
