Synopse

With hypnotic imagery, director Marta Mateus explores the myths of Southern Portu-gal and spins a political fable connecting past and present. The vines are carrying fruit – it’s harvest time. Soraia cuts herself. Blood mixes with wine. A black bull runs around untethered. Up in the oaks, time seems to stand still. A community seeks shelter, shares bread and wine, memories and dreams, the history of a landscape. It is a long night, na-ture speaks. The fiery wind burns, bringing heat waves with it.
