Synopse
The Brecht citation"Will there be singing in the dark times?" serves Nandita Das as motivation in her directorial debut. It is set against the background of the bloody conflicts between Hindus and Muslims in Gujarat in the year 2002, and shows the fates of a whole range of people, from a Hindu-Muslim couple to a Muslim orphan who seeks shelter with a Hindu woman. A deeply moving mosaic of images that reflects the terrible gash torn through the public and the private Indian society.
