Synopse
DOCUMENTARY When the state comes knocking, sometimes the whole street answers the door: a true story about civil disobedience and peaceful protest in Scotland. On the morning of the Eid festival, a vehicle from the immigration authorities arrives in Kenmure Street in Glasgow: two neighbours are due to be deported. The news spreads like wildfire and within minutes, locals and strangers flood the street and prevent the van from leaving. A spontaneous impulse becomes a protest that lasts hours and unites a neighbourhood. Using mobile and news footage, Bustos Sierra reconstructs how a moment of fear became a day of collective courage.
Regie
Felipe Bustos Sierra is a Chilean-Belgian documentary maker who lives in Glasgow. After his celebrated film Nae Pasaran! (2018), Everybody to Kenmure Street had its premiere in 2026 at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award.
