Synopse
A strong woman in a patriarchy: in electrifying musical scenes, this Moroccan drama portrays a singer and her fight for recognition. Touda dreams of being a sheikha in Casablanca – one of the highly esteemed divas who perform traditional Aita music. But, as great as her talent is, her world is very small: she lives in the provinces, doing gigs in shabby bars and is the single Mum of a deaf son. Her mostly male audience just see her as a showgirl who’ll be satisfied with a tip and a bit of ogling. But Touda won’t give up and is determined to make it to the stages of the big city.
