Synopse
ESSAY A film that resembles an archaeological excavation, a city as transient memory store and a crime of which no trace remains. 35 years ago, a man was kidnapped and has not been seen since. 10 years ago, his face reappeared in the streets of Beirut. But was it his face? Several parts were missing, but in the main his features had remained unchanged – and still he seemed not to be the man who disappeared. This experimental essay sets out in search of the thousands who were kidnapped after the civil war in Lebanon and never seen again. It asks questions about the truth of pictures and the existences of victims and perpetrators afterwards.
