Synopse
A film like a river: three generations of a Chinese family drift through four eventful seasons Fuyang lies in a valley in eastern China and was once a refuge for artists, but is today under pressure to change. The spirit of awakening also reaches a family of gastronomers. The matriarch is in the autumn of her life, while her four sons attempt to achieve their own levels of prosperity. The generation of grandchildren, however, is trying to deal with their feelings of sexual awakening. In an impressive debut feature, Gu Xiaogang gives everyday life in China a visually powerful, yet light-footed elegance.
