Synopse

David wants to try everything out: drugs, sex – and his own limits. The 20-yearold is mentally challenged and is seen by his parents as more of a liabilitythan anything else. Without telling anyone, the young man just takes off oneday and travels from the Czech provinces to Prague, where his brother lives. Withits abundance of new impressions, the big city is a shock for David. Now soughtby his family and the police, he loses himself in the lights and crowds and endsup in a hell of seduction, hunger and sadistic violence. David is an impressive coming-of-age drama that deals skilfully withpopular clichés and features a superb depiction of the leading character.

Regie

JanTěšitel (*1982) studied film theory at the Karls University and direction atthe FAMU film school in Prague. Many of his shorts have been shown at festivals. David is his debut feature film.
