Synopse
A man barricades himself and his dog in a villa. He's not actually allowed to own the animal, as in the eyes of Islam it is unclean. A woman arrives. She is also wanted by the police. The man and woman eye each other with suspicion. How does she know that he is being sought by the police? The two are like prisoners in a house with drawn curtains. Only when the director enters the scene is the curtain lifted a little. But truth keeps being overtaken by fiction. Director Jafar Panahi shot Closed Curtain in secret near the Caspian Sea in Northern Iran and in absentia won the prize for best screenplay at this year's Berlinale.
