Synopse
A village pub on the German-Czech border. A handful of people meet up to watch the World Ice Hockey Championships. Marek Najbrt’s grandiose directorial debut is a film about missed opportunities and post-Communist traumata, reminiscent of the legendary Czech cinema of the 60s. There is a feel of bitter-sweet fairy-tale as the Czechs become world champions and a reflection of the victory can be seen in the disillusioned faces of the pub audience.
