Synopse
Three episodes about four strong women, connected by quiet lonelinessand vague yearning. Laura (Laura Dern) is a resolute, overworked lawyer, who hasto deal with the everyday sexism in her office and who then gets involved in ahostage situation with a client who feels he's been unfairly treated. Gina, anambitious woman and mother, is building a new house with her husband, almost atthe expense of her marriage. Jamie is a ranch owner who develops a closeemotional relationship to Beth, her teacher at evening classes, which is toomuch for Beth to deal with. With the mountains of Montana as a backdrop andbeautifully shot on 16mm film, Kelly Reichardt creates sensitive, minimalisticlife and character sketches of these women - vulnerable, searching forsomething and at the same time meeting life head on with a striking robustness.
