Synopse

Cork oaks, olive groves, the scorching sun and white, chalked houses – a sleepy village in Alentejo in the mid- 1930s. Young Adriano returns to Cerromaior, where his grandparents were large landowners and where he plunges into three simultaneous love affairs. The workers still toil like slaves for his family, and as Adriano decides he can no longer accept such injustice in life, he becomes entangled in an unforgiving tragedy. A poetic Western about seeking, finding and losing luck.
