Synopse
OCUMENTARY An inspiring look behind the scenes at the pioneering jazz label Blue Note Records, which made artists like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter or Art Blakey legends. In 1939, the German-Jewish refugees Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff founded Blue Note Records in New York. Their approach, revolutionary for its time, was to give the artists complete freedom and encourage them to write new music. In this way, records were made that not only changed the face of jazz, but were also to leave their mark on other genres like hip-hop. The film takes the viewer on an intimate voyage of discovery through the label's eventful past and flourishing present, with musicians like Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Robert Glasper, Norah Jones and many more.
