Synopse
A car-driver suddenly loses his eyesight whilst stopping at a traffic light. His blindness is contagious and starts an epidemic. The government quarantines the victims and any attempts at escape are punishable by death. One woman (Julianne Moore) fakes blindness so as not to be separated from her husband (Mark Ruffalo). As supplies dwindle, she and others plan their escape… Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles depicts the total collapse of society, after a novel by Nobel-Prize winner José Saramago.
