Synopse
Bai is a student looking for a summer job. Travelling through the Szechuan province, she is kidnapped and sold to a childless peasant. All attempts to escape fail - she is beaten, raped, and kept as a slave. This is reality in the remote areas of Southwestern China, where human trafficking is booming. When only male children are of any worth and money is the only objective, people develop a blind eye.
