Synopse
1945, Leningrad. World War II has devastated the city, demolishing its buildings and leaving its citizens in tatters, physically and mentally. Although the siege one of the worst in history is finally over, life and death continue their battle in the wreckage that remains. KANTEMIR BALAGOV (*1991) studied film direction under Alexander Sokurov and his debut feature Closeness won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes in 2017. Beanpole is his second film and premiered in the section Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
