Synopse
Culture shock as romcom – with the Bengali director playing himself with loads of charm and self-irony. Phaim, a 22-year old Muslim with Bengali roots, lives with his family in Torpignattara, the Muslim quarter of Rome. He earns a living as a custodian in a museum and sings in a band. At a concert he gets to know Asia, a young woman from an artistic family, who ticks completely differently to him: pure instinct, no rules. The pair fall in love – and Phaim is plunged into a dilemma: he’s really supposed to marry a Bengali woman. And how is he supposed to square his relationship with the incontravertible tenet of Islam: no sex before marriage?
