Synopse

DOCUMENTARY In his war on drugs, the Philippine crypto-dictator Duterte has turned the streets of Manila into a battlefield, setting his death squads on the people that elected him. An aswang is a demonic figure in Philippine mythology, a shape-shifting blood-sucker not unlike a vampire. Hordes of such creatures roam the streets of the capital murdering in the name of the fight against drugs and crime. Aswang follows the stories of people caught in the spiral of violence: journalists who report on the murders, undertakers who don’t know what to do with the bodies and street children who seek refuge in cemeteries.
