Synopse

DOCUMENTARY Like a face drawn in the sand, the Danish island Mandø is vanishing due to global warming. With their defiant humour and Nordic melancholy, the islanders cling to their identity. Gregers, the last farmer on Mandø, is putting on a brave face: he refuses to create a new life for himself elsewhere and hopes instead to find a wife to run the farm with him. Bird-watcher Niels mourns the loss of various rare birds, Ellen and Ingeborg suffer from lunatism and Mie is celebrating her 100th birthday. But rising sea levels and increasingly extreme weather conditions are making life on the 8km² island an ever greater challenge.
