Synopse

When religious Iranians want to find out whether a wish or a dream will come true, they consult the estekhareh. This requires a cleric to open the Koran at a random page and interpret the text he finds there. “As Simple as That”, which won the main prize at the Moscow Film Festival, tells the tale of housewife Tahareh’s (Hengameh Ghaziani) loveless routine of cooking, washing and childcare. But she keeps a packed suitcase in the corner and keeps calling a cleric’s office with the request to “consult the book”.
