Synopse
Under the scorching sun of Southern France, a young generation between rebellion and resignation. After years away, Salomé returns to the village she grew up in for a holiday job. She is the only employee at a rubbish dump in the middle of nowhere and lives in an old building site trailer. Gradually, a few lost souls penetrate the timelessness of the place and Salomé‘s loneliness. A participant from a TV reality show has walked out and is looking for a new format for her life, a depressed cyclist takes a break at the tip. All are united by a common desire: for awakening, change, the need to go crazy.

ALAIN RAOUST (*1966) had his biggest international success in 2001 with his debut film La Cage, which won several prizes in Locarno. As Happy As Possible is his first film for more than 10 years and in 2019 opened the Cannes section ACID.
