Synopse
Reza has escaped the moral swamp of the city and leads a modest life with his family as a fish farmer in a village in Northern Iran. But the countryside is also by no means free of corruption and violence. A major manufacturer with good connections to the government starts forcing local farmers and small businesses into a network of dependence by any means necessary. Reza is determined to steer clear of this sleaze – then one day all his fish are dead. The film is an impressive portrait of how corrupt cartels of power and money dictate life in Iran. A Man of Integrity won the main prize in the section Un Certain Regard at Cannes.
