Synopse

22-year-old Alex remembers his childhood – and its end – with absolute clarity. Life in a remote village with his mother, after his father had left to fight in the colonial war. The film masterfully depicts the scars of an entire generation of children, and a nation’s loss of innocence in its megalomaniac defence of an imaginary world empire. The real drama begins, when his father returns home a changed man, and when Alex will not shut his eyes against what will change his own life forever.
