Synopse

Mati (70), is a passionate bibliophile whose hobby is his work – he's got a job at the library. What is left of his time he shares with his sweet wife. When she suddenly dies his life seems to fall apart. Neither his adolescent daughter nor his dear books are of any help. Loneliness and indifference are taking over and Mati thinks of suicide. A strange wayfarer, Sass (60), who frequents public libraries to read the newspapers, starts bit by bit breaking Mati's shell and reawaken his interest in life.

Mart Kivastik (*1963) hat sich als Schriftsteller und Dramatiker international einen Namen gemacht. Er verfasste mehrere Drehbücher, A Friend Of Mine ist seine zweite Regiearbeit.
