Synopse
Miguel, Izan, Dani & Jorge are quick-witted, cheeky, wild – and they suffer from cancer. This bitter-sweet coming-of-age drama which is overshadowed by a fatal disease is from the renowned Spanish director Antonio Mercero and is based on Albert Espinosa's autobiographical stage play 'The Bald Guys.' Together with their leader, the lovable bigmouth Miguel, the four friends who turned bald due to chemotherapy only want one thing: to be normal kids. They trick mean doctors, hold secret meetings in the middle of the night and experience their first love. Hot wheelchair races are the secret highlights of the sterile hospital floors and some tricks are played, no matter how bad the blood results are. It is not much of a surprise that '4th Floor', which is free from sentimentality but flavoured with a touch of black humour and an almost casual realism, is a deeply moving film which reached an audience of more than one million in Spain and was nominated for the Spanish Goya in the category of Best Film.
