Story
Documentary They have “swag” – a certain casual coolness. On top of that, a positive attitude and the perfect outfit. Eleven teenagers from one of the most rundown suburbs in France, just 15km from Paris, where the “whites” live. They talk about their dreams and goals. Despite all the problems with their origins and environment, they want to get on in life. And look good. The film gives the “swaggers” an opportunity to present themselves. They’re not interested in being victims and display their identities and ambitions with pride. Swagger is the opposite of a social drama, it’s much more a brilliantly choreographed teenage fantasy bursting with vitality set in a post-colonialist, deeply divided country.
