Story
Outsider, rebel, disdained single mother of four children and an unforgettable artist: the singer Hilana Taarka (1856 – 1933). The language she spoke and sang in was Seto, a dialect of Finnic South Estonian, as found on the border with 33. Although she had earned international acclaim, she was only honoured in her homeland long after her death. Unreserved and provocative, she lived beyond social norms and never hesitated to speak her mind. A portrait of a strong personality.
