Story
An action drama seen by over 10 million Koreans, more than saw “Titanic” or “Lord of the Rings”. On government orders, 31 men on death row are trained as killing machines for a suicide mission. Shot in CinemaScope, it is based on a true event: in the 60s, 198n prisoners are said to have been trained to assassinate North Korean dictator, Kim Il-Sung. Kang Woo-suk’s aim was to make his film “at least as entertaining as a Hollywood movie”.
