78-year-old Youssef Chahine’s latest work is the fourth film he has dedicated to his home city. “Alexandrie…New York” is a cosmopolitan masterwork. The Egyptian film director Yehia meets his old love, Ginger, in New York for the first time in forty years. Much has changed. The American dream has become a nightmare. Yehia finds out that he is the father of Ginger’s son. A wonderful tale about the diffculties of love.
