Synopse
In the mountains of Cappadocia, ex-actor Aydin runs a hotel where he lives with his wife and sister. As the cold of winter seeps into the rooms, tension grows between Aydin and those around him. He quarrels with the villagers about money and honour, with his sister about matters philosophical and the conflict with his wife becomes a fundamental debate about differing philosophies of love and life. Aydin increasingly manifests himself as a smug cynic who tries to keep the people around him down, as soon as he sees his position of patriarch in danger. Winter Sleep won this year's Palme d'Or in Cannes.
