Synopse

Hybrid The portrait of an amputated generation in Ceilândia, a suburb of Brasilia full of ruined buildings. In the Brazilian capital and particularly in this district, the prejudice and aggression to be found in the country as a whole are always bubbling under the surface. The people bear the marks of repression and discrimination inside and out. They are scarred and traumatised. In an innovative poetic style, the film tells of their past and present and at same time undermines our ideas of fact and fiction.

Regie

ADIRLEY QUEIRÓS (*1970) had made several shorts and documentaries, before turning to feature films in 2014 with his debut White Out, Black In, which he showed at FILMFEST HAMBURG. Once There was Brasília is his second feature.
