Synopse

In this film, camera and mike are operated by children, form and content discovered bit by bit. Over four years, the members of the Film Club at the Collège Dora Maar Saint-Denis developed their film with Éric Baudelaire. And even though "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" adorns the façade of their school, the sixth to ninth graders already know that the slogan only applies to them in part. They live after all in Saint-Denis, the »problem area« of the Paris banlieue. As far as the majority of society is concerned, whoever lives there is somewhere between delinquency and resignation. And so the discussion goes: will my intelligence and social skills help me or will I be judged on my skin colour and social background? What sort of a society do we want to live in?
