Synopse
The grapes of wrath: a visually stunning drama from Lesotho which poses questions about grief, ecological destruction and religion. Christmas in the mountain village of Nasaretha, Lesotho: Mantoa, an 80-year old widow is looking forward to seeing her last remaining son, who is due back from work in a South African mine. Instead, she learns of his death. Shattered, Mantoa begins to prepare for her own passing. Meanwhile, there is more disturbing news: a huge new reservoir is planned which would swallow up the village and its cemetry. The widow’s grief begins to turn to anger.

LEMOHANG JEREMIAH MOSESE (*1980) comes from Lesotho and now lives in Berlin. He won international recognition for his prize-winning film essay Mother, I Am Suffocating. This Is My Last Film About You (2019).
