Synopse
The chronology of a yearning: two moving episodes about two people in the Nigerian capital Lagos and their longing for a new life in Europe. Mofe has a day job as an electrician in a factory, at night he’s a security guard. After losing his wife and children, he decides to emigrate – to Europe. A desire shared by Rosa, who also has two jobs, hairdresser and barkeeper. In the jungle of the metropolis Lagos, Rosa and Mofe’s stories develop independently, but have a common vanishing point: the promise of a new life far away from the Gulf of Guinea.
Regie
ARIE and CHUKO ESIRI (*1985 in Nigeria) are twin brothers and studied Film at the Columbia University School of the Arts and the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. This Is My Desire is their debut feature.
