Synopse

The Riot Club in Oxford is a meeting place for the future social elite. In the search for new members, the choice falls on freshmen Miles (Max Irons) and Alistair (Sam Claflin). For Alistair, this is no surprise: his elder brother was president of the legendary circle. And down-to-earth Miles doesn't hesitate either. The highpoint of the year is the traditional dinner, an orgy of excess which usually ends badly. But what his new friends are really capable of doesn't become clear to Miles until the situation gets out of control and he faces a terrible decision. With a cast of the most sought-after young acting talent in Great Britain, the taut student thriller looks unrelentingly behind the facade of a world where money is no object.

Regie

Lone Scherfig (*1959) came to fame mainly through the Danish Dogma film Italian for Beginners, for which she received a Silver Bear at the 2001 Berlinale. She also made the Oscar-nominated An Education and One Day.
