Synopse
A few weeks in the life of sculptor manqué Kemmel: looking for a model for a sculpture, it takes all his powers of persuasion to convince workman Hennes to accept the job. Slowly, the two men become more friendly. But the work is a failure. And his next project brings Kemmel no luck. To mark the jubilee of a sports club, he is commissioned to create the statue of a footballer. His sportsman, however, is naked - to the dismay of the club officials. A gentle satire about an artist searching for his place in GDR society.
Regie
With films like Sterne (1959), Der geteilte Himmel (1964) and Solo Sunny (1980) Konrad Wolf (1925-1982) was one of the GDR's most important directors. From 1965 until his death, he was president of the Academy of Arts of the GDR and in this position campaigned for more progressive art and culture policies.
