Synopse
DOCUMENTARY The director undertakes an emotional journey to Algeria. A road movie about the country of his father and the love of his parents. January 2019. Karim Aïnouz decides to cross the Mediterranean by ferry and visit Algeria, his father’s home, for the first time. He records the stages of his journey: the crossing, his arrival in the Atlas Mountains in Kabylia, a mountainous region in the North of the country, the return journey. Accompanied by the memory of his mother Iracema, present, past and future intermingle.
Regie
KARIM AÏNOUZ (*1966 in Fortaleza, Brazil) studied architecture in Brasília and film at New York University. He works as a film-maker and artist in Berlin. His debut feature Madame Satã was shown in 2002 at FILMFEST HAMBURG.
