Synopse
Grumbler, grouch, Grump: Mika Kaurismäki’s new film is a quirky comedy about a dour Finnish farmer who comes to Germany to buy a car – and finds his brother. Age: around 72. Basic mood: bad-tempered. That’s Grump. The old man spends his days looking for things to make him angry. And now he’s looking for a red 1972 Ford Escort, as his old one has finally fallen apart. A modern car? Never. His search takes him to Germany, where decades before his brother Tarmo had gone without saying goodbye. The brothers haven’t spoken since. An expedition to buy a car becomes an emotional road trip, starting in Hamburg.
