Synopse

Timo Großpietsch portrays life in Hamburg in an unusual and original way: fragmentary, silent snapshots of people, motion sequences, details in the flow of time. Stadt is also a homage to a great film tradition begun by Walter Ruttmann in 1927 with Berlin – Die Sinfonie der Großstadt [Berlin - Symphony of a Great City]: the city film. A filmic and musical kaleidoscope of a city as a parable of modern life. The music for Stadt was composed by Vladyslav Sendecki, and will be played live by the NDR Big Band.

TIMO GROSSPIETSCH (* 1977) in Hamburg. Numerous documentaries and reportages for NDR. His films Der Schneemann [The Snowman] (2012) and Das späte Glück der Sandra K. [The Belated Happiness of Sandra K.] (2013) were shown at FILMFEST HAMBURG.
