Synopse
Told with breath-taking virtuosity and timing, this drama is seen as the best Argentinian film noir of the 1940s. It served Rodrigo Moreno as a template for Los delinquentes. Young bank clerk José Moran lives in Buenos Aires and dreams of being rich. When he gambles away his savings, he is filled with despair. With a forged cheque, he tricks his bank into paying him a large sum, which he carefully hides. The theft is soon discovered and José goes to prison for six years. But he still hopes to enjoy his wealth when he gets out. Then the police and other criminals start taking an interest in the loot.
