Synopse

A clear-out becomes a melancholic reflection on keeping hold and letting go. Jean has a new philosophy: long live minimalism! She plans to radically purge her life – à la Marie Kondo. Following the clear-out icon’s mantra »If it doesn’t bring you joy, get rid of it!« she sets about clearing out her parents' house. But in amongst the mountains of bric-a-brac are also her mother and brother. And they’re not the only ones to put up resistance to the cleansing of the past. Jean sets out on a cathartic journey into the emotional memory of things – beyond an ideology of »out of sight, out of mind«.

NAWAPOL THAMRONGRATTANARIT (*1984). Celebrated for his uniquely eccentric style, this self-taught director from Thailand has twice been a guest at FILMFEST HAMBURG in 2013 with 36 and in 2014 with Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy, which won the NDR Young Talent Award.
