Synopse
DOCUMENTARY Burrowing in mud, looking for worms, flicking away insects: Gunda captures the reality of the animals we eat every day. A warm, visually impressive, intimate portrait. Gunda dozes in the doorway to her sty, eyes closed, breath even. But the peace and quiet don’t last long. Her posse of piglets hurtle round the corner and hurl themselves on their mother’s massive body. Victor Kossakovsky treats the animal inhabitants of a small farm as equals and portrays them as creatures with their own cognition, feelings and habits. A declaration of love without slogans or exclamation marks.
