Synopse
Experimental film: The early days of cinema, above all the silent film art of Méliès and Fritz Lang, were the inspiration for the new film by the exceptional Argentinian director Raúl Perrone. Favula is vaguely based on an African fairy tale and uses back projection. The story is mainly set in a lonely house and the nearby jungle. The life of a family of outsiders is thrown into disarray by the arrival of a young woman. Under the minimalistic, pulsing pictures, Perrone layers a complex soundtrack made up of jungles noises and contemporary songs and creates a mythical cosmos full of danger, passion and magic.
