Synopse
The world seen through the eyes of a donkey. Inspired by Robert Bresson's Au Hasard Balthazar, the film portrays a fateful journey full of melancholy and magical cinematic moments, almost completely without dialogue. Donkey Eo lives in a Polish circus and performs harmless feats with his beloved owner Kassandra. When activists protest against the animal acts, the authorities forbid the circus from using the donkey and set him »free«. For Eo begins an odyssey on which he meets both good and bad people and experiences joy and pain. Stoically, the sensitive, misunderstood animal accepts its fate – without for a second losing its innocence.
